Kaleidoscope

One of my friends introduced Mary Oliver to me. I am impressed by the simplicity and clear expression in her works, that add beauty and flow and touch our hearts.

Thanks to her and uiuc.edu, I came across one of her fantastic works.

The name of the poem is The Journey.  I will simply mention a few lines of the poem and I believe that it will motivate you to read the poem fully and see for yourself what journey is dear Mary Oliver referring to.

One day you finally knew
 what you had to do, and began,
 though the voices around you
 kept shouting
 their bad advice

........

 But little by little,
 as you left their voices behind,
 the stars began to burn
 through the sheets of clouds,
 and there was a new voice
