Thanks to Wikipedia and http://www.abilitymagazine.com/abe_story.html for the above information. The abilitymagazine website especially describes how in his life he experienced adverse conditions and what means he adopted to face those situations. It is a wonderful read.
A small hammer was constantly pounding on a somewhat sharp tool that was aimed my tooth......
Of all the treatments that I have undergone in my life time so far, dental treatments are the ones that are the most adventurous. But I have never expected this time to be so adventurous as described above.
This adventure took place in the hot city for IT business - Bangalore in India. It was small clinic run by a doctor who brings specialists for specific jobs. A specialist and the doctor were at work and my wisdom tooth was their target . And I was worried of the methods used as if I knew that what they followed were hugely off the normal practice.
The doctor did not hesitate to touch my tooth with his bare fingers, I was surprised as well as worried on hygienic grounds.
The treatment was over - a troubling wisdom tooth was removed - actually two of them... The specialist left. The doctor and I were conversing, yes he was talking and I was writing my responses in a piece of paper. I thought that I could just travel to my home town which is 6 hours away, right after the treatment. But my condition - swollen gums and a bit of bleeding did not permit the same.
I did not make any arrangement with any of my friends in town or a hotel to stay and was perplexed. At this time the doctor, without any hesitation told me that I could come and stay with me for a few hours.
From then on and until I left India , the hospitality of the doctor - he would call to check if I have taken the medicines properly, plan his schedule to fit mine and always rich of ideas / solutions to difficult situations that disrupted our schedule and was willing to work with me based on my priorities.
During this time, My hygienic worries translated to an affection for his 'an extra mile' service. And I learnt that it was my poor or lack of knowledge of a dentist's methods that triggered my doubts earlier.
A few days ago I was watching the movie 'Dead Man's Chest'. Never before, I paid attention to Jacksparrow's ( Johnny Depp) artificial gold teeth like this time. I began to wonder, how a dentist would have fixed them, then :)
Thanks to Wikipedia for Johnny Depp's picture !

When I landed in the country, I heard several opinions about Singapore; 'It is boring', ' It is just a city' , 'It is plastic'. As days passed by, I started to see the beauty of Singapore , the fantastic buildings ( I love the architectural magnificence of Esplanade - please see the picture attached ), the un-manned metro trains are a wonder, especially whenever I am in the first car and watching the extended rail roads from the glass window in the front, the superior care to cleanliness reflecting in every nook and corner, one of the lowest income tax % etc etc. I am thrilled to write about some of the cool stuff about Singapore in my forthcoming blogs.
